I'll cross my fingers that it will return. I also can't grow the Hinckley's columbine - I've killed it many times. I am, however, having luck with "Denver Gold", which is yellow like Hinckley's with a longer tail.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567066498008776041.post-812721530157311822011-04-08T11:17:27.927-05:002011-04-08T11:17:27.927-05:00Wonderful, beautiful! And no muss-no fuss. That's the kind of plant we all want to have. I've had no luck with Columbines, but this spring I do have 2 tiny babies and 1 bought Hinkley's that survived the winter. We'll see how they survive summer. As to the native question - I plant anything I think is pretty!Dianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08681758051433522246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7567066498008776041.post-3886446093111283502011-04-06T17:50:25.574-05:002011-04-06T17:50:25.574-05:00I saw the columbine for sale, but didn't know ...I saw the columbine for sale, but didn't know how well they would grow in Texas. I've only see the yellow and red-yellow ones. I have a shady bed where purple columbine would be perfect. I'll have to keep an eye out for them next year.
