Captcha be gone

You'll be happy to know I've turned off "word verification" for comments. Honestly, I didn't even know it was on or I would have turned it off sooner. It's cruel and unusual punishment and I won't subject my readers to it. If you have a blog, I encourage you to turn it off as well. I'll moderate each comment to keep the spammers away.

  1. I wish you had a "like" button...that captcha is crap!

    1. Cat, I agree. It was only after getting caught in Captcha hell on another blog that I realized MY blog might have the same horrible requirement -- and it did! It's off now and won't come back. Sorry everyone!

  2. Thank you...thank you. That captcha just made it harder to comment.

I haven't had too much trouble with spam...especially here lately. I think Blogger is catching most of it

    1. Linda, the only posts that get spammed here are my ancient posts on installing drip irrigation and, interestingly enough, my recent microgreens post. The spam posts are always very obvious with stilted language and a link. It's easy to weed them out. Sorry it took me so long to turn Captcha off!

  3. I liked the original blogger captchas (single word written clearly), but this new two word one is crap. I think I'll have to turn it off on my blog too.

    1. Do it, Katina! You can turn on comments moderation and catch the spammers that way.

    1. Jenny, I have no idea. The "reply" button showed up about the same time the double Captcha showed up!
