A must-see Austin garden tour

The Inside Austin Gardens Tour is this Saturday, May 3 from 9 to 4.  For $15 you can tour six gardens selected by the Travis County Master Gardeners Association for "exemplary quality and design" - or pay $5 to see a single garden.  There will also be plant sales, book sales and informal discussions at each garden.  A map and all the details can be found at http://insideaustingardens.org, but here's a quick look at four of the six gardens.

Lori Daul's garden is not pictured here, but it's amazing - if you can only see one garden, see hers! KLRU's "Central Texas Gardener" visited her garden recently, you can watch the episode here.

I'll be working the AgriLife Extension Demonstration Garden (also not pictured) from 12 to 4, and you can see it for free, so come see me!

  1. Looks like a good way to spend the day! Garden tours with "exemplary quality" are so refreshing, but the distance...glad to have your blog to bring it a bit closer. I can't help but to notice these are gardens with places to sit and enjoy.

  2. Your photo coverage is spot on - I saw the same gardens but didn't capture their essence as you did. You make the prospect of spending the day outside in the heat look enticing. Only wish that word "it's" on the sign didn't distract me so.

  3. Nice photos, Caroline! It was fun seeing the gardens with you, and I agree that readers won't want to miss Loree's garden.
