Seattle Garden Bloggers' Fling - Bellevue Botanical Garden

On Day 2 of the Seattle Garden Bloggers' Fling, after visiting the private Epping and Lane gardens, it was time to visit a public garden, the Bellevue Botanical Garden.

The Bellevue Botanical Garden is ginormous -- 53 acres! -- and we had an hour. I didn't make it to many areas, but I did see these.

I shot this Ancanthus mollis on the way out, as I hustled to the shuttle. Beautiful! I'm sorry I missed the meadow and discovery gardens, but it was off to the next stop.

  1. This was yet another garden that wowed us with its wonderful color. Those bee balm and montbretia were just amazing. Did you know that we can grow acanthus in Austin. Well, we used to be able to! They had huge stands of it at the entrance to a neighborhood off Southwest Parkway.
